This towel is said to be the masterpiece of Maruyama Towel, a small manufacturer of towels in Imabari, Japan. It is soft, fluffy, airy, quick-drying, and manufactured with immense care at every step of the process, from growing the cotton to weaving the towel, to achieve a wonderful result for the person using it and to minimize its impact on the environment during production.

Note: In Japan, the water is generally very soft; therefore, towels stay soft even after many washes. In most parts of Europe and also the US, the water can be hard. Hard water makes fibers stiff over time. To prevent that, it is recommended to use some vinegar in the rinse cycle (there is no smell afterward). Do not use softener for washing your towels; it glues the fibers together and reduces their absorbency.
